Karig selected as campus dean
The South Carolina College of Pharmacy announced the appointment of
Arnold W. Karig, Ph.D., as MUSC campus dean.
Karig served in several administrative positions during his 35-year
tenure, most recently as the interim dean of the MUSC College of
Pharmacy.
In addition to his administrative service, Karig was honored with eight
teaching awards and several professional awards including the Bowl of
Hygiea Award (2000), the MUSC Alumni Association Centennial Recognition
Award (1992), and the SCPhA Pharmacist Recognition Award (1998). Karig
is also the author/editor of numerous manuscripts, reviews, and books.
His clinical areas of expertise are drug interactions and
over-the-counter medications.
