NAMI names IOP hospital of the year
for 2005
The
National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) South Carolina has named
MUSC's Institute of Psychiatry as NAMI South Carolina’s Hospital of the
Year 2005. The announcement was made at the organizations’ annual
conference Sept. 10 in Columbia.
MUSC’s Institute of
Psychiatry administrator, Joan Herbert, second from right, accepts a
plaque honoring the institute as the National Alliance on Mental
Illness (NAMI) South Carolina’s Hospital of the Year 2005. Presenting
the award is J. David Almeida, center, executive director of S.C. NAMI.

According to J. David Almeida, executive director of NAMI South
Carolina, “The institute’s commitment to both quality treatment and
family inclusion were the driving factor behind our decision.”
