Time to hustle
To show support for this year’s MUSC Heart Walk, hustle out to the
Horseshoe Friday, Sept. 9 sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and
participate in the festivities, food and fundraising.
Doing the hustle is easy, whether it’s dunking doctors, deans, and
administrators at the dunking booth or enjoying a massage. On the
portico, Sticky Fingers, Mama Fu’s Asian House, EVO Fire-Wood Oven
Pizza, and Jason’s Deli will have selections from their menus. Take
your pick of dessert at the bake sale or go for ice cream served up
by hospital administration.
The Office of Volunteer and Community Services’ annual Arts and Crafts
exhibit will also add a variety of homemade jewelry exhibits,
paintings, embroidery items, homemade jams and jellies, wooden crafts,
sweet grass baskets and much more to the Heart Walk Hustle fundraising
event. All proceeds from the Hustle will go to the American Heart
Association. Last year’s Hustle raised $9,000 and this year, the goal
is to exceed that mark.
MUSC is this year’s lead sponsor for the American Heart Association’s
Lowcountry Heart Walk held on Saturday, Sept. 24. All proceeds of the
Heart Walk Hustle will go to the AHA on behalf of MUSC to help meet the
total fundraising challenge of $100,000. Help MUSC meet that goal by
coming out to the Hustle and/or signing up for a MUSC Heart Walk Team
for the event on Sept. 24.
