Dear MUSC, MUHA, UMA
and CFC Family Member:
Soon you will receive materials regarding the 2006 Trident United Way
Campaign and how you can personally help solve our community’s most
crucial and persistent problems. We are writing you in advance to urge
you to read through the materials and carefully consider them.
After the government, United Way is the largest supporter of health and
human services. Locally, more than 70 Trident United Way agencies fund
programs that nurture children and youth, increase self-sufficiency,
promote health and wellness, support older people and strengthen
families.
We all are familiar with the important work the United Way performs
during times of disaster or emergency. The bulk of the United
Way’s work, however, takes place on a much quieter yet profoundly
meaningful level: for example, making sure an elderly woman enjoys a
hot meal or making sure a child has a safe place to go after school.
As one of the largest employers in the Charleston area, the Medical
University and its employees can have a tremendous impact on the
services the United Way is able to provide this coming year. We hope
that you will join us, along with your fellow MUSC/MUHA/UMA/CFC
employees, in making an investment in our community and future. Pride
in our university and fellow employees is reaffirmed every time we
extend ourselves to meet our responsibilities to our fellow Lowcountry
residents.
Thanks for all you do on behalf of our community.
With best personal regards,
Raymond
