Storm Eye Institute opens clinic in
Goose Creek
On Feb. 20, the Storm Eye Institute (SEI) opened a new office in Goose
Creek. With specialists in optometry, retina, glaucoma, and cornea and
cataract surgery, the new space will bring a much needed service to the
area north of Charleston.
The office replaces the one burned down last year on the Trident campus
when an adjoining office space caught the entire building on
fire.
“This is just another example of how MUSC and the Storm Eye Institute
are expanding services to better serve outlying communities,” said
Ashlie Lefko, SEI.
The timing for the opening falls within the SEI’s 30th anniversary
year, and SEI chairman M. Edward Wilson, M.D., was pleased to announce
the expansion. “We strive to bring our patients, no matter where they
live, the best and most innovative care available,” he said. “We are
formally celebrating the excellence in research, patient care, and
teaching provided by the SEI this year, but we’re always committed to
the education and quality care of our patients.”
The new office is accepting patients, so for information or to schedule
an appointment, call 792-8100, 792-1414 or (800) 894-3513.
