Class introducing Linux command line
to begin
Brian Muller from the Center for Academic and Research Computing (CARC)
will be teaching a series of classes on basic use of the Linux command
line from 4 to 5 p.m. Feb. 15 in Room 436 of the Education
Center/Library. The number and times of future classes will be
determined at this initial meeting.
The series will begin with an introduction to the Linux command line
environment and progress into basic shell scripting and other scripting
languages (Perl, etc.).
The classes will target those who have basic computer skills (ability
to use a browser, search the Internet, use e-mail), and some previous
exposure to Linux. This is an advanced topic and directed toward
those who use either Linux or Unix on a regular basis. The class, open
to all MUSC staff, students, and faculty, will serve as the basis for
most of the other upcoming classes offered by CARC.
If you would like to attend other classes but cannot attend this first
one, or if you have any questions, e-mail mullerb@musc.edu. No
registration is necessary.
