MUSC brings home awards in
television, radio spots
MUSC’s Business Development & Marketing Services Department won
three ADDY Awards Feb. 25 at the local ADDY Awards competition hosted
by the Advertising Federation of Charleston.
The MUSC Heart & Vascular Center TV spot won two Gold ADDY Awards,
one in the Local 30 second TV category and one for Use of Animation.
The MUSC Hollings Cancer Center radio spot, featuring the voice of
Sabra Slaughter, M.D., MUSC chief of staff, won the Bronze ADDY for 60
second Radio.
The local ADDY awards are the first of a three-tiered national
competition to recognize and reward creative excellence in advertising.
Gold ADDY winners advance to district and national competition
coordinated by the American Advertising Federation (AAF).
In addition, Business Development & Marketing Services won national
awards for a TV commercial for the second year in a row. The department
won three silver Telly awards, the competition’s highest honor, for the
MUSC Heart & Vascular TV spot in the following categories: Local 30
second Hospital Spot (over 200 beds), Use of Animation, and Use of
Graphics.
The Telly Awards is the premier national awards competition honoring
outstanding TV commercials, video and film production. The competition
showcases the best work of some of the most respected advertising
agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators
and corporate marketing departments.
Each year, the Telly Awards receives more than 12,000 entries from 50
states and some foreign countries. Past winners include Sony, HBO,
Universal Studios, Walt Disney Studios, Fed Ex Corporation, Ogilvy
& Mather, Young & Rubicam, Time Warner, E! Entertainment TV and
BET.
