Provost office accepting nominations
for awards
The
Office of the Provost is requesting nominations for the following
faculty awards:
Developing Scholars Award: Recognizes and rewards junior faculty
members who have made outstanding contributions to the research mission
of MUSC. The award is aimed at individuals who have successfully
demonstrated the capacity to compete for extramural funding but who are
still in their formative stages of their career and demonstrate
exceptional promise for the future. This is restricted to an assistant
professor rank who has been an MUSC faculty member for at least two,
but no more than six, academic years.
Distinguished Faculty Service Award: Recognizes and honors faculty
members, who over a substantial portion of their careers, have provided
exceptional and sustained service and contributions in teaching,
research, health care and/or public service to the university and the
citizens of South Carolina. Up to three awards may be made each year.
Outstanding Clinician Award: Honors full-time faculty of any duration
of service, who have made outstanding contributions to patient care at
MUSC. Currently, active clinicians that commit a significant proportion
of their time caring for patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings
are eligible for the award.
Forms may be obtained from the Office of the Provost at 135 Cannon
Street, Suite 101, or by calling 792-2340. Nominations are due by May
22.
