National Hospital Week held May 7 - 12
National Hospital Week is May 7-12, and in keeping with the MUSC
tradition of recognizing hospital employees and staff during this time,
the Hospital Week Committee created a fun-filled week of activities,
food, and ways to say “thank you” to those who embody the healing
spirit.
An advertisement in the May 7 Post and Courier newspaper will convey
MUSC’s employee appreciation in addition to recognizing the State’s
Palmetto Gold winners from MUSC. On May 8, hospital employees will be
greeted by managers and directors and treated to a bagel and fruit
breakfast at each main entrance. Also on May 10, hospital
administrators will meet and greet employees at the various bus stops
as they arrive to work, thanking them for a job well done.
Representatives from Parisian department store will join vendors that
same day by promoting Employee Appreciation Day with a 20 percent
discount in their Citadel Mall store for use on Thursday.
Likewise on May 11, the new We Proudly Brew Starbucks location located
in the main hospital will offer coffee samples and mini-muffins from
6:15 to 8 a.m. Vicki Marsi and an accompanist will serenade employees
as they arrive for work from 7 to 8:45 a.m. That evening, all
night-shift employees will receive a Papa John’s pizza party.
Representatives from Belk department store’s cosmetics lines will be in
the Children’s Hospital lobby May 11 and 12, offering makeovers to
employees. Finally, Costco and Sam’s Club representatives will be on
hand May 8 - 11, offering memberships and giveaways.
All hospital employees will receive tickets that deem them eligible to
win one of many great prizes offered by the committee throughout the
week. These prizes range from restaurant gift certificates and free
admission passes to various events and places to furniture,
accessories, and artwork. The random prize drawings are a fun way to
show appreciation for all the hard work that MUSC employees deliver on
a daily basis. Daily broadcasts announcing the winner will come with
the daily noon-time broadcast message e-mail system.
And as if all this wasn’t enough, all MUSC employees received a travel
coffee mug and ticket for a free ice cream or fruit.
