Library receives grant
The MUSC Waring Historical Library was awarded a $75,632 grant by the
National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), the
funding branch of the National Archives, for a Preserving and Accessing
Medical History Collections project.
The grant money will fund a project archivist to review, rehouse and
recatalog 94 manuscript collections consisting of more than 320 cubic
feet of records which document the history of the health professions at
MUSC and in South Carolina.
The library serves MUSC and the state as the repository for rare books,
journals, artifacts and manuscript materials that document South
Carolina's health professions.
The library is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday for
research and tours. For information, visit http://waring.library.musc.edu.
