Annual breakfast allows staff to
meet, greet
The
MUSC Budget Office held its third annual Budget and Breakfast Aug.
29. The event culminates the official MUSC Board of
Trustees approval of the fiscal year 2007 university budget. Managers,
directors, vice presidents, deans and others were invited to drop in
for a complimentary breakfast provided by budget office staff while
picking up this year’s budget.
The event allowed those with academic, finance and administration
backgrounds to meet and greet each other in a relaxed setting and
provided an opportunity for business managers campuswide to network and
ask questions about the upcoming budget cycle.
Susie Edwards, Budget and Purchasing director said, “We’ve made great
strides in the budget process, but it’s important for us to continue
our effort to promote productivity and efficiency. As we continue to
link strategic planning with the annual budgeting process, we must
focus our attention on engaging wide segments of the university family
in establishing institutional priorities. Ultimately, these priorities
will drive the allocation of resources and leadership decisions.”
