Wellness expo promotes healthy living
The
2007 MUSC Health and Wellness Expo, sponsored by Piggly Wiggly,
offered MUSC faculty, staff and students the opportunity to learn more
about becoming fit and healthy and staying that way. Numerous
organizations and companies from throughout the Lowcountry set up
booths offering healthy food products and fitness demonstrations.
“In spite of the bad weather, we had about 475 attendees, of
these, 289 were employees, 150 visitors, and the remaining students,”
said Annie Lovering, R.N., Employee Health and Wellness Program
director. “There was a wide variety of information and
screenings. The expo had a feeling of professionalism, and attendees
seemed to enjoy themselves.”
Lovering thanked Harper Wellness Center staff Michael Desrosiers, Mary
Ellen Lenhardt, Howie Schomer, Benita Schlau, Tami Varn, and Jim Tomsic
for their hard work in making this year's expo a success.
