MUSC offers health administration
degrees in executive format
The
Department of Health Administration and Policy is accepting
applications for its executive format programs. Degrees at the
bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels are offered for working health
care professionals. The program design allows students to maintain
full-time employment while working toward the degree.
- Bachelor of Health
Sciences Program—especially designed to provide educational
advancement to a wide variety of entry-level prepared, credentialed
health professionals. These may include, but are not limited to dental
assistants and hygienists, emergency medical personnel,
histotechnologists, medical assistants, medical laboratory technicians,
health information managers, radiographers, respiratory care
practitioners, etc. Geared to the needs of adult students, the program
is available in both a part-time and a full-time sequence and is
offered in an online format to accommodate working health
professionals. This program has fall and spring entry and is accepting
applications now for students to begin this Fall.
- Executive Master in Health
Administration (MHA) Program—an innovative program for students
to obtain the MHA degree. It is designed for working health care
professionals who want to earn their MHA degree while maintaining
employment in the health care sector. Courses in this program are
primarily Internet based, with four-day (Thursday through Sunday)
on-campus sessions once each semester. The curriculum begins each
spring and summer and students can complete the program in two years
(full-time) or three years (part-time) while continuing to work
full-time. The MHA program is currently accepting applications for
Summer entry.
- Doctor of Health
Administration Program—designed to facilitate the development of
highly advanced health care leaders who can influence the shaping of
policy and more effectively address the health delivery demands of
their organizations and the citizens they serve. This program meets the
intellectual and career development needs of senior health care and
health policy executives who are actively engaged as leaders in health
services organizations, and is offered in a combination format
including extended weekends on campus and web-based instruction so
students can continue their professional work while completing their
academic studies. The DHA program is seeking masters-prepared,
experienced health care professionals from MUSC to join this fall's
class.
The Department of Health Administration and Policy is located in the
College of Health Professions at 151 B Rutledge Ave.
