MUSC Excellence at
the University
F&A sponsors
employee appreciation event
The
MUSC Division of Finance & Administration held an Employee
Appreciation Event Wednesday, Aug. 15.
“It’s about recognizing excellence and appreciating employees who make
a difference,“ said Roy Dingle, Recognition and Reward Committee
chair.
From left are
Tabath Gregg, O'Dell Bennett and Linda Simard.
An Employee of the Month was chosen from each area in the division
(Finance, Engineering and Facilities, and Operations) from all of the
Applause nominations received in July. Winners received a gift
certificate, a certificate of recognition, and a letter of appreciation
from Lisa Montgomery, vice president of finance & administration.
The winners and biographies are below:
Finance
Name: Linda Simard.
Department: Controller’s
Office.
Length of employment: 9
years.
Nominated by: Kathy
McKay, Controller’s Office/Property Control.
Reason: Processing
payments for surplus property. “Linda was very helpful during the
absence of a co-worker in paying bills.”
Family: A daughter.
Words of advice: Be
patient and understand that everyone learns at a different pace.
Engineering and Facilities
Name: O’Dell Bennett.
MUSC Department:
Engineering & Facilities (Sign Shop).
Length of employment: 19
years.
Nominated by: Julie Ham,
Engineering & Facilities.
Reason: Bennett met and
exceeded a very tight deadline in Storm Eye Institute’s new pediatric
clinic for signage. The signage was necessary to pass an inspection,
and only minimal lead time was provided.
Family: Wife and four
children.
Words of advice: A
positive attitude when you come to work and do the best you can when
you are there.
Operations
Name: Tabatha Gregg.
Department: Human
Resources Management (HRM).
Length of employment: 10
months.
Nominated by: Patti
Kelly, HRM.
Reason: The process that
record staff enters EPMS (Employee Performance Management Systems)
results into HeRMIT was not working properly. Because of a vendor
default, it resulted in the record analysts having to rely on a member
of the Information Technology staff to manually conduct a
behind-the-scene fix resulting in the entry of information in HeRMIT.
Gregg worked to find a solution to this problem. Her efforts resulted
in a work-around strategy that streamlines the process and insures
efficiency in the record area as well as a solution to the issue that
the vendor could not provide.
Family: Husband, four
children and a grandchild.
Words of advice: Work
toward accomplishing your goals in order to achieve the best
professional outcome.
Other nominees for July include Tessie Lee, Controller’s
Office/Accounting Services; Sallie Perry, Controller’s Office; Sandra
Parker, Printing Services; Ethel Campbell, Engineering &
Facilities; Gloria Rhodes, Engineering & Facilities; Paul Grant,
Engineering & Facilities; Judy Lewis, Public Safety; and Michael
Odom, Public Safety.
The Division of Finance & Administration would like to thank those
who were nominated and who continue to make significant accomplishments
in customer service and performance.
