Meet...Dee


Name: Digna (Dee) DelaRosa, R.N.

Department: Main Operating Room.

How long have you been at MUSC: 10 years.

Where were you born: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

What did you want to be when you were little: A dancer. I like to do everything from cha-cha to  ballroom dancing.

What was your first job: Kentucky Fried Chicken.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job: Helping people and making them laugh. Also, as a circulating nurse, I’m the eyes and ears of the patient. I don’t leave the OR until they’re done. We protect the patient.

If you could change careers, what would you be doing: Teach. I’m back in school so I can teach nursing. There’s a need to teach patient care.

Item you must  have in your refrigerator: White wine.

Pet peeve: People who don't come to work when they’re scheduled to.

With whom would you like to trade places for a day: The Queen of England so I could try on all of her hats.

If I were the U.S. President for a day, I would ... : Fly around in that big jet all day.
