Name: Joan Colglazier.

Department: Endocrinology.

How long have you been at MUSC: About 27 years.

Most rewarding aspect of your job: I love the multicultural aspect of working in the area of MUSC where I have the opportunity to witness the commonalities of our missions in life. I love feeling, as an American, like a minority here.

Whom do you most admire: Mary in the cafeteria. She’s an excellent steward and good Christian. Not only does she do a good job, but she also helps people find where they're going. She is always so kind, caring, compassionate and helpful to others no matter how hectic her work.

If you could change careers, what would you be doing: Environmental engineering.

Items you must have in your refrigerator: Parmesan cheese and rice milk.

Favorite music: Contempory Christian and gospel.

Biggest challenge: To further the complete understanding of type I diabetes.

Favorite scripture: Philippians 4:8: ... whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
