Celebrate Bike Month, bike to work
April 25
In honor of Bike Month, a table will be set up in the portico to:
create awareness for safe biking and the importance of sharing the road
(for both motorists and cyclists); encourage biking as a safe and
healthy form of transportation to and from work; provide literature
about local cycling events, safety advocacy and clubs; provide a map of
MUSC campus bike racks; and provide a map of safe access routes into
MUSC.
In addition, Health 1st will be available to register cyclists, whose
miles are eligible for inclusion in the MUSC Employee Wellness Program.
Public Safety will also help cyclists register their bike with the
city.
The table will be set up from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 4, 11 and
18.
The Charleston Bicycle Company will be in the Horseshoe from
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 11 and 18 to sell items such as helmets,
locks, lights, gloves, and reflective vest. The company will also set
up a work stand to do some minor repairs.
On April 25, employees and students are encouraged to bike to work. A
table will be set up from 7 to 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to
welcome cyclists with free snacks, and the MUSC Wellness Center will
allow bike commuters to use its showers and lockers.
