F&A announces
Employee of the Month
The
university’s Finance & Administration (F&A) division celebrated
February’s Employees of the Month March 19.
Employees of the month are selected by the Rewards & Recognition
Committee (RRC) from a list of all F&A Applause Award nominations
for the month. F&A honors employees from the Engineering &
Facilities, Finance and Operations departments who were nominated for
Applause awards for their commitment to excellent service.
Employee of the Month for
February
Hugh (Bud) McPartlin, Engineering & Facilities
A summary of the nomination reads: “Despite Bud’s 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
schedule, he works whatever hours are needed without being asked to
minimize downtime to his customers. This includes early mornings, late
evenings, weekends, and holidays. An example of his dedication was seen
in January when he was on leave due to a death in his family. Bud
called in several times from Minnesota to make sure various project
items were addressed and that nothing would slip in his absence. He is
also a regular presence on all of his job sites, and keeps his
customers and co-workers well informed of any impacts from project
activities. He goes beyond being proactive in meeting with his
customers in order to minimize any disruption to them. They frequently
commend the great lengths he goes to in order to keep them informed. He
also regularly suggests new ideas to the contractors and project
managers to help minimize interruptions to our customers. Bud does
whatever is needed to complete his projects, regardless of whether or
not it is one of his job duties.”
