CARTA adds new stop at Ashley River
Tower
Effective
March 3, a new stop at ART was added to the CARTA (Charleston
Area Regional Transportation Authority)
Medical Shuttle Route 203.
Upon leaving the Harborview Tower parking lot, the CARTA bus will turn
left on Lockwood, and then turn left on Bee Street. The bus will then
turn right on Bravo, just past the VA Hospital, and left on Ralph
Johnson Street, stopping between the Wellness Center and ART. After
pick-up/drop-off at ART, the CARTA Medical Shuttle 203 will continue
down Courtenay, making a left on Calhoun and left onto Jonathan Lucas,
picking up/dropping off at the MUSC Jonathan Lucas stop before
returning to the Hagood parking system.
The MUSC ART bus will continue to stop at ART, then on to Ashley Avenue
and Doughty to serve Rutledge Tower.
The MUSC Jonathan Lucas route is not affected by this change. During
peak morning and evening periods, the MUSC Jonathan Lucas bus
will continue to directly connect Hagood/Harborview Parking with the
Jonathan Lucas bus stop.
As a reminder—access to the entire CARTA fixed route system, including
Medical Shuttle Route 203, is free of charge to MUSC staff and
students. Simply have your ID ready when you board the CARTA bus.
