Meet...Kim


Name: Kim Mallin, M.D.

Department: Family Medicine.

How long at MUSC: I did my family medicine residency from 1999-2002, then I joined Flowertown Family Practice (FFP) in 2002. FFP joined MUSC March 1.

Best thing about working at a satellite office: I am excited for FFP to becoming an MUSC satellite office, and am happy about the affiliation.

Most rewarding thing about your job: Getting to know the whole family.

Last book read: The Appeal by John Grisham.

Favorite room in your house: The bathroom. I love soaking in the tub.

CD playing in your car: Keith Urban.

First job: McDonalds.

Fondest childhood memory: Staying at Grandma’s in the summer.

Coke or Pepsi: Diet Pepsi.

Person you admire the most: My friend, Judy, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy and still being positive.

Biggest challenge: Patience.

Idea of a perfect vacation: Sleep late, go for a dive or two, then nap and read books.

Interesting fact about yourself: I have three kidneys.

Coolest accomplishment: Scuba diving to 200 feet with my husband.

Favorite quote: The Serenity Prayer.
