MUSC Excellence at
the university
F&A announces
Employees of the Month
The university’s Finance & Administration (F&A) division
celebrated March’s Employees of the Month at its monthly event April
16. Employees of the Month are selected by the Rewards &
Recognition Committee (RRC) from a list of all F&A Applause Award
nominations for the month.
Each month, F&A honors employees from the Engineering &
Facilities, Finance, and Operations departments who were nominated for
Applause awards for their commitment to excellent service.
Employees
of the Month for March
Gloria Rhodes, Engineering
& Facilities
Summary of the nomination: “Gloria Rhodes was cleaning a
classroom when she found a student’s wallet. The wallet contained at
least $150. Without hesitation, she turned the wallet in to its
rightful owner.”
Francina Dantzler, Parking
Management (Operations)
Summary of the nomination: “In early March, I brought my brother
to the emergency room with chest pains. Francina was so kind and showed
excellent professionalism when helping her to get her parked vehicle
and by assisting her in getting her brother into the hospital.”
Paula White, Grants &
Contracts Accounting (Finance)
Summary of the nomination: “During the last few months preparing for
the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) site review, Paula
worked extremely hard requesting information from five selected
departments, verifying information from the fixed assets system and
preparing various reports and documentation required by the auditors in
a timely and efficient manner (this information was used to help the
departments prepare for their site visit from DHHS). As a result of her
efforts in gathering the data, the departments were better prepared for
their on-site visit. This was reflected in the success of our recent
F&A rate negotiation. Paula also demonstrated that she is a great
team player by taking the initiative to step in and help out on several
occasions when schedules were tight and certain tasks needed to be
completed within a specified time frame. She continues to provide great
customer service and is a valuable member of the Cost Accounting
staff.”
