25th Annual Children's Miracle
Network broadcast to benefit Children's Hospital
Tune in to WCSC TV-5 for the 25th Annual Children’s Miracle Network
(CMN) Broadcast to benefit MUSC Children’s Hospital on May 31.
The local broadcast will air live from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. from the
MUSC Wellness Center, 45 Courtenay Drive, and will be hosted by on-air
celebrities Bill Sharp and Debi Chard.
Children's Hospital
patient Chase Ringler, 4, holds a bug that he found. Chase, Paris
Marchant, 2008 CMN Champion Child JoJo Greenwood and others will tell
their stories during the annual broadcast May 31.
During the broadcast, MUSC pediatric patients and their families will
share their miracle stories about beating the odds against illnesses
such as cancer, cystic fibrosis, heart and lung defects, brain tumors,
birth defects and severe trauma from accidents. Physicians and
practitioners will share information on the many specialties available
to children at the Children’s Hospital.
Viewers will have the opportunity to learn more about the discoveries
being made at MUSC to improve the health care and well-being of
children. Sponsors who have raised money throughout the year also will
be on hand to present their donations to the Children’s Hospital.
Be sure and tune in to see true miracle stories, including those of
Chase Ringler, Paris Marchant and the 2008 CMN Champion Child, JoJo
Greenwood. The money raised during the broadcast will allow MUSC to
continue to serve children of the Lowcountry with the best care
possible. To learn more about MUSC Children’s Hospital visit http://www.musckids.com.
In addition, red- and-yellow-striped paper balloons are available for
purchase for $1 at registers at Wal-Mart stores and Sam’s clubs through
May 31 to raise money. Wal-Mart stores and Sam’s clubs nationwide
are once again partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network to raise
awareness for children's hospitals and the work they do.
MUSC Children’s Hospital is the beneficiary of the funds raised at
stores in the Charleston area, including West Ashley, James
Island, Summerville, Georgetown, Mount Pleasant, Walter-boro, Moncks
Corner and Goose Creek. Through direct contributions and funds raised
at stores and clubs, Wal-Mart has contributed more than $430 million to
Children’s Miracle Network since 1987.
