Name: Beth Hansell.

Department: Biostatistics, Bioinformatics & Epidemiology (business manager).
 
How long at MUSC: I’ve been with this department for about seven years, but I’ve been with MUSC for 33 years.

What did you want to be when you were little: A nurse.

What was your first job: Receptionist at a travel agency.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job: The health research piece of it.

Item you must have in your refrigerator: A bottle of wine.

Pet peeve: Pushy, impatient people.

Favorite way to unwind after a long day: Sitting on the deck sipping a glass of wine.

Idea of a perfect vacation: Scuba diving in sparkling, blue, warm water from a remote tropical island.

If you could relive any day of your life, what would it be: Getting married was fun.

Words of advice: Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Something you do that is silly but really fun: Play Wii with my husband, especially the boxing one game. I think my husband lets me win.

If I were the U.S. president for a day, I would ....: Lower gas prices and figure out this economy.
