Meet...Nana

Name: Nana Bartke.

Department: Biochemistry & Molecular Biology.

How long have you been at MUSC: Since January 2007.

If you could change careers, what would you be doing: Own a small farm/vineyard/plantation somewhere in southern Europe.

Favorite possession: The shark tooth that I found last week on Folly Beach.

Idea of a perfect vacation: Being with good friends in a Pacific paradise: relaxing, good food, good drinks, have fun and enjoy life.

Favorite quote: Never think of the future—it comes soon enough. [Albert Einstein].

How do you feel sharing a name with a tropical storm/hurricane: Since Hurricane Nana has not formed yet, I can’t wait to see how it will develop. I hope it will not be too destructive.

What quality of a hurricane describes something about you: I start new duties somewhat reserved and cool-headed, but once I “heat up” I can get pretty excited and energetic.

What would you do if a major hurricane was approaching and you did not evacuate:
Join one of the hurricane parties to make the best out of it.
