Nominations to Presidential Scholars Program accepted

Nominations and applications are being accepted for the 2009-2010 Presidential Scholars Program. Nominations may come from students themselves, from faculty, and from current or past presidential scholars. The completed applications require a sort essay of interest from the student, the student’s cv, and a supporting letter from a faculty member/dean or current or previous Presidential Scholar. Nominations and applications may be made online at http://www2.edserv.musc.edu/scholars/application/process.htm. The nomination deadline is Feb. 13. Completed applications are due by March 9.

Undergraduate and graduate students in any year of their curriculum are eligible as long as they are able to participate in both Fall and Spring terms. Selection will be limited to approximately 40 students. All colleges will be represented. The selection will also give diversity of discipline and cultural background strong consideration in the selection process.

Information sessions are scheduled on the following dates and times to give students the opportunity to address questions and concerns that they might have to faculty and student scholars. All sessions will be held in the Room 121 of the Education Center/Library Building.
Wednesday, Jan. 21: Noon – 1 p.m.; Tuesday, Jan. 27, 5 – 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Feb. 4: Noon – 1 p.m.
