Dental educator speaks at ADEA meeting


J. Mark Barry, DDS, associate dean for clinical affairs in the College of Dental Medicine, recently presented at the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Business and Clinic Administration Section Annual Meeting. Barry’s topic was titled, “Educational Parameters and Imperatives in Academic Clinical Dentistry.”
 
Barry facilitated a discussion highlighting patient-centered care in an academic environment during small group breakout sessions. The forum focused on compre-hensive care, assessing clinical competence without requirements, and assuring quality treatment.
 
Barry also is a 2008 graduate of the ADEA Leadership Institute, which prepares current and next generation of dental professionals in academic dentistry through education in public policy and legislation knowledge, administrative affairs and leadership.
