MUSC celebrates Sustainability Awareness Week Nov. 9 -13


MUSC Sustainability Awareness Week is Nov. 9 through 13. Each day the staff of the Engineering & Facilities Department will focus on a different recycling problem or sustainability issue that faces the MUSC community. All activities will take place between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Horseshoe unless otherwise specified:

  • Nov. 9: Greening your Home by Mary Gatch of Dwell Smart from 11 a.m. to noon in Room 116, Colbert Education Center & Library;  and Greening your Medical Practice from noon to 1 p.m. in Room 115, Colbert Education Center & Library.
  • Nov. 10: Green Commute Day: CARTA, Parking Management and MUSC Bike Club will have information on how to commute in a sustainable way.
  • Nov. 11: Sustainable Garden Day: Jeff with Full Circle Gardens and Landscapes and Colette with Native Plants will share their expertise.
  • Nov. 12: MUSC Green Team Day with a surprise “Message in a Bottle.”
  • Nov. 13: MUSC Recycles Day featuring the MUSC Sustainability Program and Recycling staff and information about what services are available on campus.
  • Nov. 15: America Recycles Day. Check local listings for countywide events and remember to recycle, it’s for the good of the planet.
