College of Nursing (CON) volunteers have raised more than $9,000
at the College of Nursing’s 2009 Barbeque Benefit sponsored by the
Dean’s Hilton Head Advisory Board. The event raised enough funds to
fully endow the college’s 125th Anniversary Nursing Scholarship that
will aid nursing students in their pursuit to become innovative nurses
of the future.
Ruth E. Edwards, chaired this year’s Hilton Head Advisory Board and
lead 12 volunteers to sell tickets and sponsorships for the event.
The Barbeque Benefit was held Nov. 8 at Honey Horn Plantation on Hilton
Head Island. Sponsors included The Broken Arrow Barbeque Team, The
Heritage Classic Foundation, Hilton Head Regional Healthcare, The
Greenery Inc., Resort Services Inc., and Bess Soper Catering.
