Annual OB/GYN Spring Symposium slated for March 23 - 25
|
The 40th annual OB/Gyn Spring Symposium, “Azaleas, Dogwoods, Benign and
Gyn Oncology,” will take place March 23-25 at the Doubletree Guest
Suites Hotel, 181 Church St.
This three-day continuing education course is designed for the
practicing obstetrician-gynecologist, nurse practitioner, nurse, and
any other gynecological care provider. Controversial areas in
gynecologic oncology applicable to the non-gynecologic oncologist will
be discussed in detail, and the course will feature three nationally
and internationally known guest faculty, as well as MUSC OB/GYN faculty.
Topics to be covered include a recent ovarian cancer symptoms consensus
statement, awareness of ovarian screening status and newer tests, as
well as other concepts which may impact on one’s practice.
Non-gynecologic oncology subjects undergoing changes and advancement,
including concepts in the management of myomatous uterus,
noncontraceptives and intraoperative and postoperative hemorrhage also
will be discussed.
The course is sponsored by the Department of OB/GYN and College of
Medicine, and co-sponsored by the Office of Continuing Medical
Education and College of Nursing. For information contact Pam Benjamin
at 876-1925, or Benjamin@musc.edu.
