The
2009 Update in Psychiatry, held May 29-30 in the Institute of
Psychiatry auditorium, will focus on the daily challenges of applying
psychopharmacology in clinical care.
This conference brings psychiatrists, primary care physicians,
psychologists, and other mental health professionals together for
networking and education. At the end of this program,
participants will be able to: cite practical knowledge regarding new
applications of psychotropic compounds; understand Federal Drug
Administration warnings for psychopharmacological agents; understand
the shared biology of affective-spectrum disorders; appreciate how
anti-depressants normalize immune functions; develop practical
knowledge regarding potential medical complications resulting from the
use of commonly prescribed psychotropic compounds; apply practical
approaches to the management of these complications; and much more.
The registration fee is $275, and includes conference materials,
continuing education credit processing, and continental breakfast.
