MUSC
receives more accolades from U.S. News & World Report; this time as
one of America’s Best Graduate Schools for its drug and alcohol
program. This is the sixth consecutive year that MUSC has been
recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its drug and alcohol
abuse academic offerings.
“We are once again proud that MUSC was ranked as one of the top
Universities for Graduate Education in Alcohol and Substance Abuse,”
said Raymond Anton, M.D., Distinguished University Professor and
director of the Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs. “The Center for
Drug and Alcohol Programs (CDAP), along with the Clinical Neuroscience
Division (both in the Department of Psychiatry), and the Neuroscience
Department, all contribute to an outstanding learning environment for
researchers and clinicians in this area. This top ranking is even more
significant given that very few ‘state supported medical schools’ are
ranked highly in this survey. This is a tribute to the foresight and
support given to the Alcohol and Substance area by the leaders of MUSC.”
CDAP provides both clinical and basic laboratory research opportunities
to its graduate students. For more information on CDAP and its
nationally ranked academic program, visit http://www.cdap.musc.edu.
