Name: Austin O’Malley.

Department: Institute of Psychiatry— Center for Drug and Alcohol Programs (Outpatient Program).

How long have you been at MUSC: 6 1/2 years.

A talent you have: Playing three Native American flutes at one time.

Bad habit: Eating “heavy” in the middle of the night.

First thing you notice about a person: Their energy.

What do you do on a rainy day: Sit in my glass enclosed Florida room, watch the hummingbirds feed and play my guitar.

One thing you do that never gets old: Eating my wife’s cooking and drinking her coffee.

Favorite place in the world: My home and yard.

The one thing you can’t live without: A goodnight kiss from my wife .

How would you spend a million dollars: Purchase a log cabin on a lake.

Favorite quote: Joy and spiritual growth are about letting go of my programmed thinking, disidentifying with my thoughts and detaching from results.
