PA of the Year winner also receives $1.6M HRSA grant

PA of the Year winner also receives $1.6M HRSA grant Paul Jacques, DHSc, PA-C, associate professor and interim director of the MUSC Division of Physician Assistant Studies, was named by the S.C. Academy of Physician Assistants as the Physician Assistant of the Year. The award is given annually to honor a physician assistant (PA) who demonstrates exemplary service to the profession and the community. SCAPA will make a $500 contribution in Jacques’ name to the Elizabeth Gouge Scholarship Fund.

Jacques also received notice that his $1.6 million Health Resources Services Administration PA Training grant was funded. This five-year grant has multiple components, some of which include continued funding for PA academic fellowships and the addition of an oral health component to the PA curriculum.
