To Medical Center Employees

We are kicking off a series of medical center town hall meetings at the times and locations indicated in the schedule below. There will also be several town hall meetings for large departments in place of their routine department-based meetings.

The town hall agenda includes: an update on our goals; recognition of outstanding employees, physicians and high performing service areas; a discussion of our plans to begin using a different patient satisfaction survey vendor for most areas; an update on our hand hygiene goal and methods to measure; an overview of challenges being faced by the health care industry with health care reform and our proactive initiatives; a discussion concerning our organizationwide Employee Partnership action plan; and questions and answers. The entire town hall meeting should be limited to 30 to 45 minutes.

One of our MUSC Excellence guiding principles is to communicate with everyone. We need to do a better job encouraging everyone to attend the town hall meetings. We have usually had a total of around 1,000 individuals attend the quarterly sessions. Our goal is to increase attendance significantly. Your attendance is strongly encouraged.
Thank you very much.

W. Stuart Smith
Vice President for Clinical Operations
and Executive Director, MUSC Medical Center
