Facebook FunRaiser hopes to bring in 7,000 toys

Wonder Works created a Facebook FunRaiser to benefit Happy Wheels, a program that gives toys and books each Thursday to children receiving treatment at the Children’s Hospital. Through Dec. 7 Wonder Works will donate a toy to Happy Wheels for every new person that likes their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/wonderworkstoys. The goal is to raise 7,000 toys.

Harper Drolet, a Charleston resident and MUSC patient, has volunteered to lead the FunRaiser. In 2009 Harper, 10, was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer. Her ongoing treatment requires her to spend a great deal of time as a patient at MUSC. She passes her time on Facebook while receiving chemotherapy. “I’m already a big fan of Wonder Works and I’m excited to spread the word about this Facebook FunRaiser because the Happy Wheels cart means so much to all us kids at the hospital. It’s a bright spot in our week.”
