The MUSC Library is sponsoring its first-ever Tech Fair from
11 a.m. to 2 p.m., April 7 at the Colbert Education Center & Library.
The purpose of the fair is to introduce MUSC employees,
faculty, students and researchers to available electronic tools, resources and technologies
being used and offered at MUSC.
The event, sponsored by the MUSC library, is being offered
to expand and improve the MUSC Library’s learning facilities and services while
introducing newer technologies. The event will feature presentations, training
sessions, posters and workshops, information booths and commercial technology
vendors to provide demonstrations and review uses of technology in teaching,
learning and gathering information across the university.
Participating vendors include Apple, AT&T, Dell,
Compusult, Polycom, RefWorks, MPact, Tandberg, Sprint and Verizon.
Commercial vendors will be available to demonstrate mobile
technologies and video conferencing capabilities. Food vendors also will be
available. Prizes including restaurant and vendor gift cards, computer products
including a chance to win a Dell Netbook will be offered.
