Child advocate receives award

The National Children’s Advocacy Center (NCAC) presented the Outstanding Service Award in Medical Care to David Habib, M.D., director of the Division of Pediatric Care. The honor came at the 26th National Symposium on Child Abuse in Huntsville, Ala.

In recognizing Habib, NCAC Executive Director Chris Newlin cited his collaborative partnerships with the Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center (DNLCC) in Charleston and The Dorchester Children’s Advocacy Center in Summerville. He envisioned and built the capacity of the medical services available through the Violence Intervention Prevention Program housed at DNLCC.
