Meet...Isabel

Name: Isabel Detzler

Department: Interpreter Services

How long at MUSC: 5 years

Pet: My cat, Bonzo, swears he’s Garfield and is always on a diet

A unique talent you have: Losing my stuff!

Bad habit: Finishing people’s sentences. I can’t help it and it drives me crazy.

Meal you love to cook: Depends on what my husband is fixing

Most embarrassing moment: Convincing Polish police that we jumped from a moving train because we missed our stop and not because we were trying to blow it up!

The first thing you notice about a person: Their potential to smile

One thing you can’t live without: A parking spot at the Rutledge Garage! (I’ve been next on the list for the past five years.)

Dream vacation: Having enough paid time off to rent a car and travel through Europe for a month!

Greatest moment in your life: When I woke up from a diabetic coma and realized I had a second chance

Favorite quote: “Sólo sé que nada sé”  Socrates (I only know that I know nothing)
