Lunchtime Losers begins July 8


The Lunchtime Losers class starts July 8 at the MUSC Weight Management Center. The 10-week program focuses on lifestyle change and is designed to be convenient for MUSC employees with classes held every Thursday on campus during lunch from noon to 1 p.m.
 
classes are provided by MUSC Weight Management Center staff, a registered dietitian, psychologist or exercise physiologist and focus on the dietary, exercise and behavioral information to be healthier, lose weight and manage long-term weight loss.
 
Classes are interactive and include group discussion and demonstrations. Some of the topics and activities will include weekly weigh-ins; low-down on low-fat; reading food labels; reducing triggers to eating/changing eating behaviors; exercise and stretch band information; smart grocery shopping; alternatives to eating to aid weight control; setting short- and long-term goals and dining out.
 
The 10-week professional weight loss program costs $98, which employees may pay through payroll deductions over three months with no down payment or interest. Employees also may use payroll deduction for a significant other who may not work for MUSC.
