Rehab center hosts spinal cord injury conference
|
MUSC ‘s Rehabilitation Research Training Center and the Shepherd Center
in Atlanta will co-host a spinal cord injury (SCI) conference,
Translating Evidence to Prevent Secondary complications after Spinal
Cord Injury, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 2, College of Health
Professions, Room A-204. The event will feature three speakers, David
Apple, M.D., Deborah Backus, Ph.D., and Joycelyn Craig, R.N.
Topics will include epidemiology and the importance of secondary
conditions after spinal cord injury (Apple); medical and rehabilitation
strategies for preventing/reducing secondary complications of SCI
patients (Craig); and identifying and applying methods for translating
evidence into clinical practice (Backus).
Registration is $25, which includes lunch and continuing education unit
