Focus on African-American Health Care Issues Sessions are open to all students, house staff, faculty, research and nursing staff

Feb. 1: Disparate Care-Root Cause Analysis and Solutions. Dr. Clyde W. Yancy, chief of cardiology, Northwestern University-Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, Ill.

Feb. 8: Southwestern Virtual Institute for Health Equity and Wellness: An Integrative Approach to Eliminating Health Disparities. Dr. Sabra Slaughter, associate professor, chief of staff, Office of the President, MUSC; Dr. Leonard Egede, The Allen Johnson Endowed Chair of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, director, Center for Health Disparities Research, MUSC.

Feb. 15: Racial Variation In Health Care: The Case of Joint Replacement Utilization. Dr. Said A. Ibrahim, professor of medicine and vice chair, Department of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania School of medicine, associate chief of staff for medicine, Philadelphia VA Medical Center

Feb. 22: Personalized Medicine and Lung Cancer Disparitites. Dr. Alex A. Adjei, senior vice president, clilnical research, professor and chair, Department of Medicine, The Katherine Anne Gioia Chair in Cancer Medicine, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, New York
