The
university’s Finance & Administration Division recognized staff
from the Engineering & Facilities, Finance, and Operations
departments who were nominated during the past quarter for their
commitment to MUSC Excellence.
Employee of the
Quarter
Mike Campbell,
Zone 2 (Engineering & Facilities)
“On July 23, 2010, the building
engineer (BE) for Engineering &
Facilities Zone 2 separated from MUSC to take another job. Since that
time, Mike Campbell has gone far above his normal assigned duties and
stepped up to a leadership role performing most of the duties normally
performed by the BE. Mike did an outstanding job filling in for the BE
position and making sure that the customers of Zone 2 did not see a gap
in services. Now that a new BE has been hired, Mike continues to exceed
his prescribed duties by helping our new BE develop into his new
position. Mike has been invaluable in helping our new BE learn his job
and become oriented to E&F and MUSC. In June of this year, the MUSC
Excellence Standard of the Month was ‘I commit to being a team player’
and removing the phrase, ‘it’s not my job’ from my vocabulary.’ Mike
more than lived up to this standard He has displayed a true sense of
ownership for his Zone.”
