CHARLESTON -- The MUSC College of Medicine has been listed among America's best graduate schools in a new listing by U.S. News & World Report. The new 2006 ranking lists MUSC as 62nd in the category "Top Medical Schools - Research."
In a new ranking of the subspecialty of alcohol and drug abuse programs, MUSC was also listed as a best graduate school in this subspecialty, sharing eighth place with Duke University.
U.S. News determines rankings of schools on two types of data: expert opinion about program quality and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research and students.
